Sam Shields fails to clear concussion protocol

Even after two days of practice at the Don Hutson Center, it appears that Green Bay Packers cornerback Sam Shields is still not allowed to play yet after his concussion.

The Packers were hoping that Shields would be able to clear the league's post-concussion protocol of required steps before being allowed to play Saturday night in the NFC Divisional Playoff at Arizona.

However, Journal Sentinel beat writer Michael Cohen reports that Shields did not succeed yet in clearing protocol.

It is not necessarily 100% out of the question that he still could for Saturday.

Shields has not played since his concussion on Dec. 13 vs. the Dallas Cowboys.

The only change from Wednesday's injury list Thursday involved Quentin Rollins being able to practice on a limited basis with his quadricep injury.
