Support is pouring in for the Maki family, who lost two children in a deadly house fire Tuesday night.
A vigil was held Wednesday at the family’s church to remember the children killed in the fire.
11-year-old Natalie and her 7-year-old brother Carter were killed.
This morning 10-year-old Benjamin remains in critical condition. 9-year-old Jenna got out safely.
Family members say that Natalie was home watching her three siblings while their parents attended bible study. That’s when the fire broke out.
Natalie and her sister Jenna got out. As Jenna ran barefoot in the snow to a neighbors for help, Natalie went back inside to try to save her brothers.
Her uncle says he doesn’t know if he could have done what Natalie did. He says she’s a hero.
“Would you run into a house that’s in flames? Personally, would you?” asked Ryan Passini. “You would not. That 11-year-old did it to save her family.”
The family is asking for everyone’s prayers.
An investigation into what caused the fire continues.
A fund has been set up by the family of the Maki’s.
