ASHWAUBENON (NBC 26) -- Marcus Bay Park Cinema issued a statement on its Facebook telling movie goers that costumes will not be allowed for screenings of "Joker".
The movie theatre in Ashwaubenon said costumes, including masks and face paint or make-up that covers a person's face, are not permitted for people attending the movie.
This comes a few days after Marcus Cinema banned large bags from its theaters.
Movie theaters across the country have increased security in anticipation of the "Joker" release. The FBI and the Department of Homeland Security are warning law enforcement across the country after several social media threats called for mass shootings at showings of "Joker."
A theater in Aurora, Colorado, which was the site of a 2012 mass shooting during an opening night screening of "The Dark Knight Rises," has already said it will not be showing Joker out of respect for survivors and their families. Twelve people were killed and 70 were hurt in the 2012 shooting.
"Joker" is now playing in theatres nationwide.
