GREEN BAY (NBC 26) -- Marcus Cinema has updated its policies regarding bags and carry-ins.

Beginning Tuesday, the movie theater chain said it will no longer permit bags or packages with any dimensions measuring larger than 12” x 12” x 6”. Diaper bags and medical equipment bags are exceptions to the rule. Children must be present for the diaper bag exception.

Marcus Cinema issued the announcement through its social media pages on Monday.

"As always, no carry-in food and/or beverages are allowed," Marcus Cinema posted on Facebook.

Marcus Cinema said the update to the bag policy was intended to provide a safe experience for movie goers.
