Wisconsin health officials said there were 953 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in the state Saturday afternoon. This is the eighth day the state has recorded at least 900 new cases in a day.

According to the DHS, a total of 17,636 cases are still active. They said about 61% of people are marked as "recovered" from the virus.

Health officials said there were 13 deaths, bringing the state's total to 891 people who have died in relation to the virus. Almost 2% of people in Wisconsin who tested positive have died from the virus.

A total of 4,370 people with the virus have been hospitalized, which is 43 more than Friday.
