Percentage of COVID-19 cases in Wisconsin climbs

Wisconsin health officials said out of 8,089 COVID-19 tests that came back Sunday afternoon, 10.3% are confirmed to be positive for the virus.

The state has seen an increase of 830 confirmed COVID-19 cases, making it 42,315 total cases in Wisconsin since early March. This comes a day after Wisconsin's latest record-high of 978 cases with only 8% of tests returning positive.

According to the state Department of Health Services (DHS), approximately 8,838 cases are still active in Wisconsin. They said 32,628 of people, or just over 77%, have recovered from the virus.

There was one death recorded, bringing the state total to 844 people who have died in connection to the virus.

Hospitalizations saw an increase of 25 people for a total of 4,107 people. This means 9.7% of people have been hospitalized from the novel coronavirus.
