MADISON (NBC 26) -- After several days, some of which were record-breaking highs, Monday's data show a slightly lower number of new coronavirus cases in Wisconsin.
Wisconsin DHS reported 1,726 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday. While it's a high number, it's still lower than the past four days, in which Wisconsin health officials reported more than 2,000 new cases.
The percentage of coronavirus tests returning a positive result also dropped slightly on Monday to 21.9%. It had been around 27% the previous day.
The total number of confirmed cases continues to increase in Wisconsin. Wisconsin's total number of confirmed cases Monday was 117,588, with about 82% of those cases listed as recovered.
Two more deaths were reported Monday, bringing Wisconsin's death toll to 1,283.
These new numbers come as Brown County health officials introduced a new online dashboard to help track COVID-19 in Brown County.
