A 9-year-old boy was taken to the hospital with injuries Monday afternoon after being hit by a pickup truck.
According to Sheboygan Police, the 66-year-old driver from Sheboygan turned from 17th Street onto Erie Avenue and struck the boy as he was walking in the crosswalk. The victim suffered some cuts and bruises. He was taken to Memorial Medical Center and later transported to Children's Hospital for observation.
The driver of the pickup truck was cited for operating without a valid driver's license and failure to yield the right of way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
