ASHWAUBENON (NBC 26) -- "The goal of The Booyah is a safe return to baseball in early July," the Green Bay Booyah and Northwoods League stated in a joint news release Wednesday.

The Northwoods League issued an update on where the league stands in the wake of shutdowns caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

"We are continuing to work with local and state health officials to determine a safe return to Capital Credit Union Park," the team said in the news release.

The team stated it has developed a safety plan that includes modifications to the capacity and seating within the ballpark, and changes to procedures used in the stadium. Full details of the plan have not yet been released.

"In conjunction with the Northwoods League, we are working on developing a 'pod' scheduling approach with our fellow Wisconsin teams," the statement reads.

"We look forward to safely coming together as soon as possible," said the league.
