This past weekend, three Girl Scouts and a Girl Scout Mom were fatally struck by a vehicle while working on their community service project of picking up trash along a highway.

In a response to the tragedy, a local arts and crafts store, Stitch Supply Co, is asking for donations to make a quilt for each family. In order to make these four quilts, the store is also asking for volunteers to help make and piece them together.

The store will model the quilts after the Cluck Cluck Sews' Heart Tutorial. Each heart will be green to symbolize the Girl Scout logo, and the background color is asked to be a low volume shade of white or cream.

If you don't have the fabric, the store asks you to stop by and pick up the cut block kits. Once completed, you can drop off the quilt at 913 S. Hillcrest Pkwy in Altoona, WI.
