Today marks the 2nd Saturday of the 2016 sturgeon spearing season. Thirty-two fish were harvested today on Lake Winnebago.

According to sturgeon biologist Ryan Koenigs from the Wisconsin DNR,  the largest fish harvested today was 78.0", 129.8 pounds and was registered at Jerry's Bar in Oshkosh by Dale Gudden.

With spearing already wrapped up on the Upriver Lakes, it was no surprise to see many shanties being removed from Lake Winnebago this weekend.

In total, there have been 297 fish harvested from Lake Winnebago this season.
