DANE COUNTY (NBC 26) -- Public health officials in Dane County say they have ordered people who live in nine fraternities or sororities at UW Madison to quarantine for at least 14 days. This includes all fraternity or sorority members who live in those chapters, unless that person has already had COVID-19 in the last 90 days.

This comes after 38 positive coronavirus tests among the chapter's members. Health officials say all other members of the chapters have to get a Covid test next week. The health authority says violation of the quarantine order could lead to a fine of up to $10,000.

According to the health department in Dane County, since the pandemic began, about one-and-a-half percent of coronavirus patients in their 20s in Dane County have been hospitalized.

No one under 30 years old has died in Dane County because of coronavirus.
