WEST ALLIS, Wis. — Seven people were arrested following disturbances Sunday night at the Wisconsin State Fair.

Despite rumors circulating on social media to the contrary, the State Fair confirmed no gunshots were associated with the incidents.

Scanner traffic captured the moment police moved in.

"We're moving in with the horses. Large fight, large fight."

What started as a normal night at the fair for Tyler turned into chaos right in front of him.

"At one point, there was so many different fights going on at the same time. So it wasn't like it was one big fight. It was almost like a couple different groups fighting at the same time," Tyler said.

Fairgoers Naomi and Tha captured video as people fought while police tried to get control of the scene. When asked what the hardest part was to watch, Naomi and Tha described what they witnessed.

"Kids crying. Yeah. When I heard kids started crying, um, I was like, this is like going bad, you know," Naomi and Tha said.

Tha said what stood out most was seeing families and young children caught in the middle of the chaos. Tha wanted to share her experience with TMJ4 in hopes that this will prevent future chaotic scenes at a place for families and young children.

"I just want to prevent that from happening again," Naomi and Tha said.

State Fair officials said enhanced security was already in place, including drone coverage, mounted patrols and support from Milwaukee and West Allis police. They said the disturbances were limited to the final hours of the fair and not representative of the overall 11-day event.

"For 11 days, hundreds of thousands of guests came together for a safe and successful Wisconsin State Fair," the statement said. "The incidents Sunday evening were isolated to the final hours of the fair and are not representative of the experience our guests enjoyed throughout the event."

State Fair officials also said the behavior is "unacceptable" and something they "will not tolerate" at the fairgrounds.
