WISCONSIN (NBC 26) -- Animal Rescue Collective Craft Guild (ARCCG) are grateful for the global crafted donations they have received for the Australian bushfires, but are asking for monetary donations instead to help buy the animals food.
In a lengthy Facebook post, ARCCG says what they need most is monetary donations to buy food for the animals affected by the bushfire. They currently have enough crafted items and medical supplies to treat the surviving animals, but the food the animals once had is burnt from the fire.
While ARCCG are thankful for the initial large influx in international craft donations, they have reached their goal and will ask local Australian crafter to make smaller batches. They say this is to help deliver the needed items quicker and again stress the need for monetary donations to buy the animal's food.

"From the bottom of our hearts, and on behalf of Australia’s wildlife carers, THANK YOU for your support during the past few months," ARCCG writes. "Wildlife carers have NEVER had support like this before and they have been absolutely overwhelmed at your outpouring of support and love!"
If people still want to help craft items to donate to rescue animals, ARCCG says to search on the web 'animal rescue near me' or join a local rescue craft group who can then direct crafter's efforts.
For crafters living in Wisconsin, you can join the Facebook group Animal Rescue Craft Guild of WI. The Wisconsin group's admin tells people there are other rescue and rehabilitation centers, zoos, and aquariums in need of donations. Contact your local centers to see what they are in need of to keep crafting for them.
