The Australian bushfires have claimed the lives of 480 million animals since September, leaving many more without food or shelter.
Crafty Wisconsinites can help out animals affected by the fires, through a local chapter of the Animal Rescue Collective Craft Guild.
The Animal Rescue Craft Guild of Wisconsin offers a variety patterns and information about creating pouches and nests that will be donated to animal sanctuaries in Australia.
According to the WI guild, 500 members across the state have joined the movement and the number continues to grow.
According to the Animal Rescue Collective Craft Guild , the most needed items include joey pouches and hanging pouches.
