A proposal to temporarily reduce the speed limit on a stretch of I-41 in Outagamie County moves forward.
On Monday, a committee gave approval for county highway department leaders to continue to explore lowering the speed limit from 70 to 55 miles per hour.
The limit would apply from Highway 15 in the Appleton area to Scheuring Road in De Pere.
Supporters say it would be a temporary move during the expansion of I-41 to cut down on accidents, speeding and congestion.
