Dozens of tenants will be without a home after a Beaver Dam apartment building is demolished.
The building was the site on Wednesday of a planned explosion, after an explosion at an apartment on Monday killed a man.
A team of explosive experts successfully detonated volatile chemicals at the apartment during the Wednesday operation, authorities said.
Police Chief John Kreuziger said Wednesday's detonation eliminated "the threatening explosive material."
The man's body was removed from the building Tuesday night. His name has not been released.
Some tenants at the complex have been displaced since Monday's explosion. The police chief said some tenants will be able to return to their apartments Wednesday and Thursday.
The investigation involving federal, state and local authorities continues into why the man possessed a significant amount of explosives, Kreuziger said.
