Oshkosh Police search for attempted armed robbery suspect

Oshkosh police say a man, walking on East Irving Avenue and Mt. Vernon Street reported being held up at knife point around 3:10 AM Saturday.

The suspect was with two other men when the incident happened. According to a news release, the victim fought off the suspect who was unsuccessful in the robbery attempt.

The victim told police the suspect was a white man in his mid 20's 5'8" to 5'10" tall with shaggy hear and red spots on his face and neck. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

The other individuals with the suspect were described as another male white and a male black.   All three subjects ran north on Mt. Vernon St.   

Police checked the area, but no one was located.  
 
It is unknown if this incident is related to another strong armed robbery that occurred early on Sunday, September 18, 2016 in the 1100 block of High Ave.  In that incident, four male suspects were involved and had battered a male victim before stealing his wallet and cash.
 
The description of the four was that two were white and two were black.  That incident still remains under investigation.
