NBC unveils new shows in 'Upfront Week'

Posted

Monday marks the start of a big week for the major television networks.

"Upfront Week", as it's called, is when the networks trot out their new fall program lineups to the biggest advertisers, trying to attract their dollars, and NBC is the first network to make its case.

The crash of the Hindenburg provides the initial backdrop for one of NBC's new series for fall, the time travel drama "Timeless". It follows a trio of heroes pursuing a fugitive through the years. It'll air mondays after "The Voice".

The relationship drama "This Is Us" will follow "The Voice" on Tuesdays. Mandy Moore is among the stars in this story of the intertwined connections between a group of seemingly disparate people.

NBC is getting back in the comedy business Thursdays with Kristen Bell in "The Good Place". She plays a not-so-nice woman who gets sent mistakenly to the afterlife and does all she can to stay there. Ted Danson co-stars in this one, which will follow first year hit "Superstore".
