A Seymour man suffered serious injuries Tuesday after he allegedly ran a red light on his motorcycle and was hit by a car in Appleton.

Appleton officers were called just after 3:15 p.m. on September 12 for a motorcycle vs. car crash at the intersection of the I-41 northbound off-ramp and North Ballard Road.

According to traffic cameras and witnesses, the 51-year-old Seymour man was exiting the I-41 north off-ramp and drove his motorcycle through a red light, police said.

He was hit by a car, driven by a 16-year-old girl from Appleton, that was going through a green light, according to officers.

The man was not wearing a helmet and was taken to a local hospital with serious head injuries.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, officers said.

Appleton Police are continuing to investigate. If you have information about the crash, contact Sergeant Whitney at the Appleton Police Department (920) 832-5500.
