WATCH: Funeral procession for fallen Appleton firefighter Mitch Lundgaard

APPLETON, Wis. — Firefighter Mitch Lundgaard will be laid to rest during a ceremony on Monday. Lundgaard was killed in a shooting that occurred in downtown Appleton on May 15, 2019.

A processional for Lundgaard will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at Brettschneider-Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel, 606 N. Oneida St. in Appleton, according to the Appleton Fire Department.

The fire department encouraged the public to line the roads along the route from the funeral chapel to Appleton Alliance Church, 2693 W. Grand Chute Blvd. in Grand Chute.

Visitation will run from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Appleton Alliance Church. Uniformed personnel are asked to remain for the 6 p.m. service, which is not open to the general public.

An emergency vehicle processional will follow the service. The fire department asks the public to line the route from the church back to the funeral chapel.
