OSHKOSH (NBC 26) -- Businesses in Wisconsin remain resilient despite the economic fallout from the coronavirus pandemic, according to a UWO survey.

On Thursday, University of Wisconsin Oshkosh (UWO) reported the results of the third month of its UWO COVID-19 economic impact survey.

UWO said in a statement that 41% of respondents indicate they have introduced or expanded online services over the last three months.

“A large percentage have offered expanded online services, with 90% stating their survivability is more certain outside of three months, which is drastically improved from the April responses,” said Barb LaMue, president and CEO of New North Inc.

The June survey featured 744 responses from business, which UWO says is a significant decrease from the 1,126 responses received in May and 2,424 received in April.

While businesses in the survey report resilience, UWO also says the June survey showed responding businesses reporting losses of $22.2 million in income, $13.7 million in wages and productivity, and 2,648 positions.

Still, UWO says each of the reported losses marks a significant decrease from previous months.
