DE PERE (NBC 26) -- Police announced Friday that two men have been arrested in connection to an act of vandalism in De Pere.

De Pere Police said lighted bollards, signs, and park benches were damaged earlier this week. Pictures on social media from both police and the city's parks department show overturned benches and even one bench in the river.

Police said two men admitted their involvement and have been referred to the district attorney's office for criminal damage to property. Police didn't name the two men, only saying that they are not from De Pere.

While police said the total value of damages are still being calculated, the city's Parks, Rec and Forestry department said in a post earlier this week that the damages could be more than $10,000 dollars. Police said the city will be seeking restitution.
