GREEN BAY (NBC 26) -- The Sexual Assault Center of Family Services is offering phone and virtual services to victims during the pandemic.
The center offers services to survivors in Brown County, Oconto County, Marinette County and Door County.
Due to Wisconsin's 'Safer at Home' order, the center's physical locations are currently closed. But the center's hotlines remain open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The Sexual Assault Center has, with the help of technology, been able to ensure survivors are getting the support they need to heal and to seek justice.
The center assures people that the services they provide are free and confidential.
Staff say this year, more than ever, it's important to raise awareness of the resources still available.
“It is extremely critical that victims of sexual assault are aware of the support provided by the Sexual Assault Center during the Safer at Home order,” said Holli Fisher, program manager of the Sexual Assault Center in Brown County. “Often times victims are isolated, and we want them to know that support is available 24/7 via mobile response or virtual connection.”
