Names released in fatal crash with semi in Waushara Co.

WAUSHARA CO. (NBC 26) — UPDATE: Law enforcement released the names of the three people involved in a crash between a semi and van from Saturday afternoon.

Wisconsin State Patrol said it happened on Wis. 21 west of 4th Avenue near Coloma. A semi was traveling west and a was van heading east when the two collided.

Deputies said a 2017 Volvo semi-tractor trailer was traveling westbound on Wis. 21 was driven by William B. Lee, 66-year-old Wausau man, and accompanying him was Deanna L. Lee, 74-year-old Wausau female. A 2019 Dodge Caravan traveling eastbound was driven by Robert A. Samples, 50-year-old Grand Rapids, Michigan man.

Authorities said Samples was flown to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Both William Lee and Deanna Lee were uninjured.

Deputies confirm alcohol was not a factor. No further information on the crash was given.
