GREENVILLE -- Nearly 100 veterans, who served during World War Two, Korea and Vietnam will be making their way back to Appleton International Airport Wednesday night after taking part in Old Glory Honor Flight Mission 52.

They left this morning for a one-day tour of memorials in Washington D.C. honoring those who served. It can be an emotional day for the veterans like Ruth Seefeld of Reedsville.

This was her first flight with Old Glory and she was the only female veteran on the trip. She sums up how she feels about the trip with one word.

"Awesome," she said. "Because it covers everything. I didn't really think I would ever do this, but I'm so glad that I did, that I have."

The veterans are expected to visit the Pentagon on this 9/11. Organizers say they expect their flight to return at 8:15 Wednesday night. They ask the community to come out and welcome the veterans home.
