SUAMICO (NBC 26) -- The NEW Zoo says it's having a couple of events this week where people can come to the zoo for free.
On Friday, NEW Zoo is offering free admission all day to those 62 years and older as part of its Senior Citizen Day. In addition to the free admission, the NEW Zoo says free cookies, coffee and juice will be available while supplies last to senior citizens.
On Saturday, the first 500 guests to the zoo will receive free admission. Additionally, the zoo says the 501st person through the gates will be the recipient of a special gift basket, sponsored by the NEW Zoo and valued at $150.
The zoo says admission tickets will not be available for sale online for Saturday, Aug. 22. Free admission will be provided to the first 500 guests who arrive, then the zoo will sell admission tickets at the gate for the 501st guest and beyond that day.
