MANITOWOC, Wis. — Manitowoc Police are asking people to avoid the area around the 1000 block of 25th Street because of an active situation.

Police say on Friday at around 11:30 p.m., a woman reported threatening behavior of her ex-boyfriend.

The woman was at the police department when she received a call saying her ex-boyfriend might have thrown some sort of flammable/explosive device in front of her home on the south side of Manitowoc.

The Manitowoc County SOS Team set up a perimeter in the 1000 Block of S. 25th St. They’re being assisted by the Brown-Outagamie County Bomb Squad, Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office and Manitowoc Fire Department.

Again, this continues to be an active scene, so they're asking people to avoid the area.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Manitowoc Police Department at 920-686-6551 or Crime Stoppers at 920-683-4466. Callers can remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward.
