KAUKAUNA (NBC 26) -- A local park has a whole new look thanks to some high school students.

The Kaukauna High School civic engagement class raised over $75,000 dollars to revitalize Fassbender Park. The mayor was on hand for a ribbon cutting ceremony today to celebrate the project’s completion.

"It's beautiful for our downtown business district. It'll allow people to come here on their lunch, sit and have something to eat. In summer I envision having Saturday night in the park where they'll have live acoustic concerts for our residents to enjoy on weekends,” said Kaukauna Mayor Tony Penterman.

Among the improvements: amphitheater style seating for small acoustical shows and 10 LED lighted trees.
