GREEN BAY (NBC 26) -- Leading up to the end of Daylight Saving early Sunday morning, several local fire departments posted reminders on Facebook for people to check their smoke and C02 detector batteries while changing their clocks.

According to the fire departments, they should be changed every six months or about every time we change our clocks for Daylight Saving.

If you are unsure how to check your detector's battery, they walk you through the process to make sure it is in good working order.

In addition, both the Village of Howard and Appleton Fire Department remind you to fully replace your smoke alarms every 10 years.
