The Howard-Suamico School District has released an updated plan for reopening schools in the 2020-21 school year.

The plan includes a change to Lineville school hours. It will also divide school attendance into groups. Lineville, Bay View and Bay Port students will be divided into two groups for in-person attendance.

A slide show that summarizes the plan says special bussing requests including daily service to and from day care providers will be granted. Grading practices will return to what they were prior to school closure.

Additionally, the district's plan says the district-wide Open House scheduled for August 25 has been canceled due to the limitations of social distancing.

Also included in the plan: Grades kindergarten through 4th grade will go to school in-person five days a week. Those students will have one Friday off per month.

Lineville Intermediate, that's fifth and sixth grade, will do two days a week in-person, and every other Friday in-person. Seventh and eighth grades will do two days a week in-person.

Bayport High School will do two days a week in-person, with Fridays as optional for in-person. Days that are not in-person will be from home. Masks are required for all students in kindergarten through 12th grades.

The plan is to have face mask breaks throughout the day. Any family can choose to have their student be online only.
