GREEN BAY (NBC 26) -- The City of Green Bay is reminding residents to not place garbage or recycling bins on snow banks. The bins should be placed in the driveway or in a shoveled area. The city says placing bins on top of snow banks creates a safety hazard for city employees.

Green Bay is also reminding people that overflow trash collection is from December 23 to December 28 this year. Residents may place up to four 32-gallon plastic bags of “overflow” household trash next to your City-issued trash cart, if your cart is full, for free curbside collection.

There are exceptions to collection of overflow trash. Furniture such as couches, tables, mattresses and entertainment centers will not be collected. Electronics and appliances are also not allowed. The city says if any of those items are left at the curb, they will be picked up and charged accordingly.

Green Bay residents may bring bulk household items, excluding electronics, to drop-off sites listed below. If you bring items to drop off sites, be prepared to show your driver's license or proof of residency in the city.
