Former Oshkosh YMCA employee sentenced for sexually assaulting child

OSHKOSH — A man who used to work with children at an Oshkosh YMCA was sentenced Wednesday for sexually assaulting a child.

Online court records show B.T. Adams was sentenced to one year in jail and six years probation and extended supervision for the charge of 2nd Degree Sexual Assault of Child.

According to previous reports, Adams was accused of sexually assaulting a 3-year-old girl at least two separate times at the YMCA drop-in center at 3303 W. 20th Ave. where he worked part-time for five years. The YMCA fired Adams after the investigation started. Adams also had played Santa Claus at the facility.

As part of his sentencing, Adams was ordered to have no contact with the victim or her family. He was also ordered not have contact with anyone under 18 years of age.
