OCONTO (NBC 26) -- The City Administrator for Oconto confirmed Wednesday that the previous flood emergency for the city has now been lifted.
Late Monday night, an ice jam, which formed under a bridge, forced several feet of water into city streets. On Tuesday, many of those streets were closed. A flood emergency was issued for the city.
Those who were stranded in their homes were told Tuesday to stay put and drivers were advised to stay off city roads until the floodwaters recede. The city administrator told NBC 26 on Tuesday that it could take a couple days.
As of Tuesday, no evacuations had been ordered.
