MENASHA, Wis. — A police standoff Wednesday morning in Menasha ended peacefully.
According to police, officers received a series of 9-1-1 calls from a woman at a home on the 800 block of Fifth Street just before midnight on Tuesday. The woman said her young child was inside the home with the child's father who was armed and threatening to shoot at officers.
After hours of negotiations, the child was safely handed off to police through a window and the man surrendered shortly after. The child was quickly reunited with her mother.
The father was taken into custody and transported to a medical facility for evaluation. No names have been released.
