APPLETON, Wis. (NBC26) -- The Mid-Day Women's Alliance held their 14th annual Black and Pink Ball fundraiser last night.
Money raised during this year's event will benefit B.A.B.E.S., Inc.'s new child abuse prevention program.
The Strengthening Families workshops are a new resource for families in the Fox Valley.
"When you have little ones to raise and you are low on resources, that stress is often what leads to child abuse," said Sarah Fabry, the Co-Chair of the Black and Pink Ball.
"It is an opportunity for us to give families dedicated parental guidance and education," said Pastor Mahnie, the Executive Director of B.A.B.E.S., Inc. "There is a formal curriculum, 14 sessions, dealing with communication, discipline strategies, understanding ages and stages, what children should be doing at a certain age, so parents don't set too high of expectations because that can lead to frustrations."
This initiative will open the door for B.A.B.E.S., Inc. to track results and seek public funding in the future.
