ASHWAUBENON (NBC 26) -- The Ashwaubenon School District will move to remote learning beginning October.
Citing "significant community spread" of COVID-19, the school district said in a statement to families that the temporary move to remote learning will begin Thursday, October 1.
There will be no school next Monday and Wednesday, allowing school staff time to prepare for the transition.
The school district said remote learning will continue through at least Friday, October 16th. School officials will re-evaluate based on information from the Brown County Health Department and local healthcare leaders.
Free breakfast and lunch for all students, ages 18 and under, will continue to be available for pick-up Monday through Friday in the Ashwaubenon High School parking lot from 11am until noon. Students previously enrolled in the district's virtual model will continue in their current program.
