MENASHA (NBC 26) -- A the number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise, the Menasha Joint School District says it will fully switch to virtual learning by the end of this week.
"Currently, our region of the State has one of the fastest growing number of COVID cases in the country. We are struggling to fill substitute teaching positions as the weeks go by," the school district said in a statement to parents. "The contact tracing and quarantining of students and staff have taken a toll on our schools and our local health department, as well as our families who have had to make adjustments suddenly."
The school district says its region of Wisconsin has one of the fastest growing number of COVID cases in the country.
The school district in Menasha says classes and activities will continue through Tuesday of this week. Wednesday is a scheduled Staff Development day and Thursday students will not attend school so teachers can have a preparation day for virtual learning. Virtual instruction will begin Friday.
Nothing will change for students who were already enrolled in virtual programming.
