Kimberly coach Steve Jones, whose team won a fourth straight WIAA title and has a 56-game winning streak, has been named the Wisconsin Associated Press High School Football Coach of the Year.
Jones credits his coaching staff, which he calls the best in the state. Kimberly has the longest winning streak in the nation at the high school level.
The Papermakers beat Franklin 29-14 two weeks ago in the Division 1 championship game.
The AP's Wisconsin player of the year is Brookfield East's Sam Santiago-Lloyd.
The senior tailback ran for 197 yards and a state all-division record five touchdowns in the 42-36 victory over Monona Grove to win the Division 2 championship.
Santiago-Lloyd didn't practice leading up to the title game because of a lingering ankle injury.
