A Kaukauna woman was charged Wednesday for allegedly robbing a Little Chute bank earlier this week.

Laurie Rogers, 55, was charged with Robbery of a Financial Institution in Outagamie County court. She's accused of robbing the East Wisconsin Savings Bank at knifepoint on Monday.

Rogers is being held on a $50,000 cash bond.

Rogers allegedly went into the bank Monday and asked for change for a dollar. When the teller came back, Rogers then told her to fill up a blue plastic bag and showed a knife, according to court documents.

The teller told police she filled the bag with just over $5,200.

During the investigation, an officer from the Kaukauna Police Department reviewed bank security footage and said the woman who robbed the bank looked almost identical to a woman involved in a car accident earlier that day, the criminal complaint said.

That officer compared bank security footage to gas station video from his traffic stop and saw the woman was wearing the same clothes, according to the complaint.

Officers then went to Rogers house where they found nearly all of the cash and what appeared to be the same clothing worn during the robbery, court documents said.

Rogers cannot have contact with the bank or the victim. She will be back in court June 15.
