GREEN BAY -- $21 Million that's how much people in Wisconsin spent on Powerball ticket sales last week.
While people are dreaming big on what to do if they win, many will benefit either way.
Nearly 70% of ticket sales stays in the state: through prizes and retailer incentives but also through property tax credits.
“So everybody that is a home owner ends up winning regardless becaue are able because of sales give money back in property taxes” Says Stephanie Marquis of the Wisconsin Lottery
So the more tickets that are sold, the more property tax breaks you get.
You'll see that lottery credit right on the back of your next property tax bill no matter which county or city you live in.
