A week after an apartment fire in Sheboygan County took the life of Tammy Aschenbach, the community has rallied together to help her family.

Aschenbach, 46, was killed in the fire on Mill Street in Plymouth after police said she ran back inside to look for her children. Her three kids had already made it out safely, officers said.

On Sunday, Cozy Bar on East Mill Street in Plymouth plans to hold a fundraiser to help Aschenbach's children and their grandmother, who lives with them.

The fundraiser will include a brat fry, baked goods and collecting donations to help the family get back on its feet.

"The family lost everything, so we're trying to get them some stuff back in their pockets, get them back on their feet," said Bill Baird, manager of Cozy Bar and Aschenbach's friend. "Get them ready to get into a new place to live."

The fundraiser will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday. All proceeds go directly to Aschenbach's family.
