Five minors have been arrested for "vulgar" graffiti and criminal damage reported on Green Bay's west side on August 21.
The incidents happened near Badger Street and Jon Muir Park. Several vehicles were spray-painted with inappropriate images and curse words, police said.
"Construction Area" signs and parts of John Muir Park were also damaged, and books in a book exchange were burned, according to officers.
Investigators developed leads that led them to people of interest, who later became suspects. Those suspects cooperated with the investigation, which helped officers close out some of the cases, police said.
The five suspects will be charged as juveniles with multiple counts of criminal damage to property. Right now, police are trying to figure out how many charges each suspect should face.
“We realize the impact these crimes have on a community," said Police Chief Andrew Smith. “Arresting the suspects and holding them accountable is the single most important aspect of this investigation to provide closure to the victims.”
Investigators are still looking for information on the lawn ornament thieves. They do not believe the suspects in this case are related to those thefts.
