Green Bay Police are investigating after "very vulgar" words and images were spray painted onto vehicles on the city's west side.

Sometime overnight from August 20 to August 21, several vehicles on the city's west side were spray painted with images of male genitalia and curse words, police said.

"Construction Area" signs and parts of John Muir Park were also damaged, and books in a book exchange were burned.

These incidents all happened in the 1500 block of Traeger Street, 1400 block of Weisner, 1700 block of Biermeret and 1300 block of Nelson Street.

"It's unwanted, it's unnecessary and for the people who did this, they should feel ashamed," said Captain Warych with the Green Bay Police Department.

Police believe all these incidents of criminal damage are related and do not appear to be random.

Officers are looking for surveillance video from the areas of the crimes. If you have any, or any information, you're asked to contact Green Bay Police at (920) 448-3208 and reference case #17-209566.
