For friends and Packer fans, Brooklynn Joy and Layla Jojo a long car ride is worth it.

"It was like 5 hours long and we came yesterday morning," said Joy.

Both took the long driver from Elkhart Indiana to see the Green and Gold play some softball, but they're also taking in a weekend of new experiences in the region.

"We went to the zoo in Green Bay yesterday," said Joy.

The chance to catch their favorite team up close and personal makes the long drive well worth the trip.

"My dad is a Lion's fan, my whole family is Lion's fans, but when the Packers won the Superbowl, I became a fan," said Joy.

For Kyle Bredeson of La Crosse, it's fun to watch their team adapt to a different challenge.

"It's kind of funny seeing football players play softball, I think.  I can see Aaron Rodgers actually being really good.  It's just cool to see them play a different sport and really see how athletic they are," explained Bredeson.

And for the players,it's well worth it.

"It's a great atmosphere.  Guys love playing in it," explained Packers wide receiver, Jordy Nelson.

Nelson himself will tell you helping raise more than $100,000 each year for the Green Bay chapter of the Young Life Organization is what keeps him coming back.

"This helps mentor middle school and high school-aged kids throughout the years and it has that positive influence on them," said Nelson.

Young Life spokespeople say the proceeds raised for their organization help them offset essential costs like transportation and getting more mentors involved.
