All of Wisconsin's 72 counties have concluded canvassing ballots cast in the 2020 presidential election, and now the state awaits a decision from the Trump campaign on whether or not it will call for a recount.

Canvassing is an essential elections process that consists of confirming that all the ballots cast have been counted, and for the correct candidates.

The updated projected totals on Tuesday give two more votes to Joe Biden, and zero votes to President Donald Trump. During the canvassing process, Biden has gained a total of 213 votes, compared to Trump's 69 total votes.

The Wisconsin Elections Commission has continued to conclude this week that Wisconsin's election remains fair and square, and reported no evidence suggesting illegal votes or election fraud.

Regardless, some movers and shakers in the state have suggested otherwise. Assembly Speaker Robin Vos (R-Rochester) has called for an investigation into potential voter fraud, but also acknowledged last week that he thought it "unlikely" that the state would find enough evidence of fraud to change the results of the election.

President Trump's election campaign has said it will call for a recount in Wisconsin. The campaign can file for a recount in the state between now and 5 p.m. Wednesday. The WEC estimates a statewide recount would cost the campaign about $7.9 million. Trump could also file for a recount only in select counties, which would reduce the cost, according to the Associated Press.

Unofficial projections have Biden leading Wisconsin by about 20,600 votes, with Biden receiving 1,630,673 votes and Trump receiving 1,610,065 votes.
