Driver rescued from burning vehicle after drunk driving crash in Green Bay

Green Bay Police are advising drivers to avoid the area of Nicolet and East Shore Drives following a crash. 

A driver hit two power poles and two utility boxes at a high speed around 10 p.m. Wednesday. 

The vehicle burst into flames. 

A 62-year-old Florida man was pulled from the burning vehicle by two Green Bay citizens. 

Officers said he was drinking and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. 

The driver was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated. 

WPS is restoring power. The area is expected to be closed to traffic until 10 a.m. Thursday. 

The detour of the area is to take Scottwood Drive to Bay Settlement Drive to 54/57, to University.
