Green Bay, WIS--
Packers' fans warned about ticket scams for this Sunday’s game against the Vikings.
Fans urged to use caution when buying from secondary sources especially for hot games like this Sunday night's matchup in Minneapolis.
The average price of a ticket to Sunday’s game selling for 447 dollars you're encouraged to go through a reputable source like the team's ticket office NFL ticket Exchange or Ticketmaster to make sure the tickets you're buying aren't fake.
If you use a different site like Craigslist you buy at your own risk.
Green Bay police suggest making sure the seller is part of the National Association of Ticket Brokers.
That increases the likelihood your ticket is authentic. Experts also say pay with a credit card instead of cash. "More often than not people who buy these fraudulent tickets don't know anything about the person they bought them from other than the transaction being made online. So we have limited information to backtrack on who this person who sold these fraudulent tickets is" says Captain Kevin Warych of The Green Bay Police.
Getting your money back in these situations is hard so police say if the deal seems too good to be true it most likely is. You're better off going through a reputable site.
