Wisconsin reports 857 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, 15 new deaths

MADISON (NBC 26) -- Fifteen new deaths related to COVID-19 were reported in Wisconsin on Wednesday. It comes after three days of no new deaths reported.

The state Department of Health Services shows the number of people who have ever been hospitalized in the state was 6,173 on Wednesday, an increase of 55.

The daily percent positive number, the rate of coronavirus tests returning a positive result, dropped to 9.7% Wednesday, a day after DHS reported a record high. DHS also reported 857 new cases.

The state now has a total of 83,334 confirmed cases, with 8,169 of those cases currently active. 88% of the total number of cases have recovered.
