WISCONSIN (NBC 26) — Wisconsin health officials reported 1,506 out of 8,615 COVID-19 tests returned positive Friday afternoon.
According to the state Department of Health Services (DHS), the seven-day average for positive cases by person is 24.8% as of Thursday's numbers. This percentage only includes each person once across the duration of the pandemic, no matter how many times an individual gets tested.
DHS staff said 92.2% of people who had tested positive for the virus have since recovered. However, an estimated 31,690 cases remain active across the state.
Five more deaths related to the virus were recorded for a total of 4,679 in Wisconsin. This comes a day after60 deaths were reported by health officials.
Hospitalizations increased by 56, bringing the state total to 20,703 people to ever be hospitalized.
